«Why are talks about entrepreneurship useless» was the theme of the talk given by David Carvalhão, innovation director of Edge Innovation, on March 12th, during the «Jornadas da Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores», held at Instituto Superior Técnico.
David Carvalhão presented a disruptive vision of what should be an entrepreneur. «Entrepreneurship is a cultural matter, so it is necessary to reward who takes risks and find new solutions», he stated, adding that failing is a synonym of trying.
Above all it is necessary to change the educational model, to prepare youth to lose the fear of failing and to dare into entrepreneurship. It is not necessary to teach our children how to dream, since that is a natural ability, instead we should let them dream and, above all contribute to the fulfilment of those dreams.
Edge’s innovation director also assures that «It was very interesting not only the talk, but also the questions. It was agreed a narrower relationship between Edge and Técnico, in the matter of acquiring necessary skills to be an entrepreneur».
